Reuse the Tower — Torre Rinalda

The project keeps the Torre Rinalda historical building intact and builds an extended second stage. The new lightweight structure combines an observation tower (the original function) and multifunctional gathering spaces. It also protects the old masonry from elements. A shallow breakwater constructed from local stone projected the ancient masonry foundation from erosion.

Participants of this competition are asked to reuse this space as a Landmark and a public square.
Is it possible to bring life back inside a military seaside architecture from the Sixteenth century?
The answer to this question is in the hands of the architects, the engineers, and the students who took a participation in this
competition.
